Happy New Year and welcome to 2010! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I’m sure many of you are taking advantage of the few remaining weeks leading up to busy season to get organized and prepare. Although there are no chapter activities from February through April, you will be receiving an e-mail in the upcoming months regarding the chapter officers and board members for the 2010-11 year. Please take time to cast your vote.
The chapter is hosting its annual hockey night at Rabobank Arena Jan. 29. I encourage you to join your fellow CPAs in cheering on the Bakersfield Condors. The game starts at 7 p.m. and there will be food provided. This is a family friendly event—for just $5 per person. Keep an eye on your in-boxes for more information.
CalCPA will hold its annual CPA Day at the Capitol Jan. 20 in Sacramento. This is a great opportunity for CPAs to educate and influence our legislators on issues and legislation, which impacts our profession. You can sign up on the CalCPA website.
Good luck with this upcoming busy season and I look forward to seeing many of you at the hockey game!
