Roberts, an attorney with Morrison & Foerster, LLP, discusses how a change in residency can be used as an effective estate-planning tool, including a discussion of California residency connections that are often overlooked or marginalized by taxpayers attempting to change their state of domicile and residence. She will also discuss the latest developments pertaining to California’s taxation of trusts and recent efforts to amend California’s statutory provisions for taxing trusts.
