14_pres_sm.jpgThank you to all golfers and sponsors of the chapter’s golf tournament. The event was a great success with 80 golfers and lots of good food, drink and socializing! We are especially grateful for our Eagle Sponsors: Employer Network, LLC and Valley Wealth, Inc. Next year’s tournament is already slated for Monday, Aug. 1, so make sure to mark your calendars.

Our 2010 winners include:

  • First Place Low Gross: Ralph Bucheli, Rob Volloughi, John Rake and Eddie Yarberry
  • First Place Low Net: Nate Miller, Dennis Witthcow, Clive Grimbleby and Mark Nicholson
  • Second Place Low Net: Loren Suelzle, Howard Sweet, Shaea Rollins and John Crater
  • Third Place Low Net: Randy Lagomarsino, Guy Nelson, Aaron Hill and Jim Mootz
  • Longest Drive Hole 16: Ladies: Teri Haigh; Men: Ryan Lagomarsino
  • Closest to the Pin Hole 8: Ladies: Janet Koning; Men: Rob Vossoughi

On a more serious note is the concern for the balance in our chapter’s scholarship fund. Student Scholarship Night is quickly approaching—Nov. 18—and we are very uncertain as to how much money we will be able to award in scholarships. We awarded $13,000 in 2008 and $8,000 in 2009. With the current state budget crisis and its effects on our public education institutions, there is even more need this year to assist our future accounting students. Please consider making a donation to the scholarship fund to enable us to meet our giving level from prior years. If you have any questions regarding the application or selection process please contact me. Following is a suggested list of giving levels, which will be recognized the night of the scholarship event:

  • Donor Summa Cum Laude: $500 and over
  • Donor Magna Cum Laude: $250–$499
  • Donor Cum Laude: $100–$249
  • Donor: $25–$99
